Festive fundraiser to be held at local college

North Wales-based business networking group Mingle for Business has joined with St. Kentigern Hospice and Llandrillo College to hold a Festive Fayre on Thursday 26th November. The Fayre, which takes place from 5.30pm to 8.30pm at the college’s Orme View Restaurant at Rhos on Sea, is open to both businesses and the public and aims to showcase local produce and companies as well as raise funds for the hospice.

Members of the public are invited to enjoy the festive fun which will feature an extensive selection of Christmas gift ideas from local producers including handcrafted goods and food. Guests will also be able to benefit from advice from beauty consultants who will be on hand at the event as well as indulge in some pampering with a selection of health, wellbeing and beauty products available for purchase at the Fayre.

The college’s hospitality students will be providing guests with mince pies and mulled wine and there will be music including festive tunes and carol singing led by musician Serge Sergiou.

There is also a fundraising raffle taking place with prizes donated by Mingle for Business members, stall holders and local companies. All proceeds will go to St Kentigern Hospice.

Local businesses are invited to take the opportunity to promote themselves to the public and informally network with each other by running a stall at the Fayre. Mingle for Business membership isn’t necessary although the event is being supported by several of its members. Even if businesses cannot attend they can still support the fundraising by donating raffle prizes or purchasing raffle tickets beforehand.

SANDRA

Mingle for Business owner and Fayre organiser Sandra Donoghue says ‘I’m really keen to support local businesses and I’m delighted by the quality of the ones coming to the Fayre. Bim’s Kitchen will be there selling their amazing African-inspired cuisine. They’re supporters of the Denbigh plum and its bid to obtain protected geographical indication status. Their Denbigh plum baobab sauce sold out at this year’s Denbigh plum festival and was their top seller at the Llangollen food festival.

‘We’ll also have Wood and Slate showcasing their products made from solid wood and Welsh slate hewn from the Penrhyn and Blaenau Ffestiniog quarries. Their work is wonderful – unique, imaginative and affordable.’

“There’ll also be photography opportunities, taken by Lisa Davies from Indever and their portable photo booth to capture family festive snaps and individual portrait shots”

As a result of Sandra’s involvement with young entrepreneurs and brand new enterprises through The Prince’s Trust and Big Ideas Wales, there will be several new enterprise stall holders at the Fayre trading for the first time.

The event is being sponsored by chartered accountants Sage & Co, local estate agents and lettings company Elwy, wellbeing company NICPET Forever Living and web design company Indever.

Admission to the Festive Fayre is free. Stalls at the event cost £10 each. Further information about the event can be found at www.mingleforbusiness.co.uk/events or call Sandra Donoghue on 07748 528505 or Sandra@mingleforbusiness.co.uk
